For more than three decades, I worked in complex operating environments leading large, distributed teams across Western Canada, including a long career at PepsiCo.

My role was consistently the same: translating strategy into clear execution while ensuring growth was balanced, profitable, and sustainable.

Execution, I learned, is rarely about doing more.

It’s about doing the right things with clarity and discipline — executing plans well, meeting service and safety expectations consistently, and ensuring people understand what truly matters at any given moment.

Along the way, I developed a deep respect for talent and leadership development. In my experience, capable people don’t usually struggle because they lack skill or commitment.

More often, they struggle because they’re in the wrong role at the wrong time.

Helping leaders find the right fit — and the confidence that comes with it — often unlocks progress quickly.

After taking early retirement, I fully expected to stay retired.

But in the years that followed, I remained close to businesses in informal ways. Working alongside trades and supporting a growing small business led to unexpected conversations about challenges, priorities, and direction.

Those conversations often ended the same way:

“That just makes sense.”

Those moments reinforced a simple truth I’ve seen throughout my career: when clarity returns, momentum follows.

That realization led to the creation of Hovde Performance Group.

Today, I work with business owners and leadership teams in an advisory capacity.

My role is not to provide answers, but to help leaders slow things down enough to think clearly, align around priorities, and move forward with confidence.

I bring experience, perspective, and a listening-first approach designed to reduce friction and help execution feel calm rather than chaotic.
